Post SPX Recovery- CAB on the Horizon

SPX was fantastic. Good people, good comics, and good times. Can't beat that. Next up Comics Art Brooklyn which should be just as good without having to drive five hours.

What is Best in Life

I was looking at a blank page in my sketch book pondering what I might draw next- what haven't I drawn before? what would be a challenge to draw? fun? different? Obviously. there are things that I usually draw- monsters, fantasy, animals. my usual fare- then it dawned on me. I've never drawn the barbarian- THE BARBARIAN. so here's my rendition of Conan illustrated to what he would say "What is Best in Life"

Let's Get KRAKEN!

Groan, Yep. That's a terrible blog post title- what's done is done and I have no way of changing the past... If you're anywhere near New York, I am sorry for you and I hope that you have a fully functioning AC 'cause it's very definition of these lyrics : "Hot town, summer in the city, Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty, Been down, isn't it a pity, Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city, All around, people looking half dead, Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head" I walked outside yesterday and immediately hated myself for doing so.

On to the topic at hand: Here's my fully functional "Kraken" silkscreened accordion book which I'll be selling at conventions all over the country- next big one is SPX so I hope you'll drop by and say "Howdy" in Bethesda!

150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg

on July 1st, One hundred and fifty years ago one of the most decisive battles of the American Civil war was fought. The battle last for three days and at the end there were nearly fifty thousand casualties- nearly eight thousand people and three thousand horses were dead (amazingly only one civilian died during the battle of a stray bullet). On July 4th of 1863, The Confederate Army retreated and the Army of the Potomac slowly pursued.

A couple of years ago I wrote and drew a graphic novel about the battle and the dedication in which Lincoln delivered his address called simply "Gettysburg" you can pick it up here

I did this sketch to commemorate the anniversary.
